Great way to spend the day in order to see the beautiful Island of Symi and swim in St. George’s Bay! :) The speed boat was a fun experience! When we arrived in Symi, we spent the 3 hours swimming not to far from the Harbour- 15-20min walk and ate a quick meal in one of the many restaurants along the Harbour. This island is a must see when visiting Rhodes! What a beautiful view! Makes for great pictures! And lasting memories! Not enough time to actually explore the island itself- but this was enough for us :) and on the way back we stopped at St. George’s Bay- breathing views! Wow! Had a little over 30 mins to swim in the crystal clear warm waters- wish we had a little bit more time here. We arrived back at the Harbour at 5pm. Overall, it was an overall fun experience! :)

Definitely make this trip to Symi if you are holidaying in Rhodes. Smooth booking, meeting point is 2 mins walk from the central bus station (if you’re staying in Lindos, Kolympia, Falaraki etc) and is super easy to find. Trip was smooth sailing, and we reached Symi in just under an hour. St George’s Bay stop however, was the absolute highlight of our entire holiday and the booking was worth it for that alone! 10/10 would recommend! Great service. We loved it!

Full description

Tale a high-speed boat cruise to Symi, of the Dodecanese's most beautiful islands set amid the brilliant blue sea. Enjoy a fast boat service that gives you more time to explore the island. On the way, stop for swimming at Saint George’s bay.

Begin your high-speed cruise at Mandraki Harbor as you set sail for Symi. On arrival, admire the turquoise water of the fishing harbor, the pastel-colored neoclassical buildings that frame the bay, and the colorful church domes dotting the landscape. Disembark at Symi and enjoy approximately 3 hours to explore the fishing town on your own. Have lunch at one of the numerous traditional tavernas (at your expense) or swim in the glittering waters.

Depart Symi and admire the coastal views as you sail through Saint George’s Bay. (From the end of september and october we will be going to St Georges Bay first as if we go after Symi, the bay will be already shaded and the ocean colours wont be like shown.) Stop for a dip in the crystal clear waters or soak up the sunshine on deck before making your way back to Rhodes.

  • The 9:00 and 11:00 departures to Symi Island stop in St Georges Bay for a 30 minute swim stop.
  • The 15:15 departure to Symi Island does NOT stop in St Georges Bay for swimming only for a 5 minute photo stop, however on this departure time, you enjoy Symi at a less busy time, less hot and you get to see a super sunset on your way back to Rhodes.

This was such a great day trip! I love how it isn't too early or too late, so you can have a relaxed morning at your hotel or the new/old town of Rhodes, and back at 5pm. The boat ride was super fast and relaxing; masking was nicely in place during boarding and unloading. The boat left Rhodes promptly, and we had exactly 3h in Symi. That was enough time to visit shops, take a bus to the top, hike down, get pics, walk through the narrow streets, and eat a lovely meal (try the Symi shrimp!). The 30-min swim at St. George's Bay was quick but a nice end to cap the sunny trip. Then you get to sleep while enjoying the sun and breeze on the way back to Rhodes. No frills, simple and easy. There are other complaints here saying the boat almost left them and so, but you just need to follow the schedule. A couple wasn't there on time, and almost missed the boat leaving Symi even with waiting an extra 3min for them. Stick to the rules, you'll be fine. Overall an enjoyable and cheap day trip!
