Explore one of the most beautiful places on the island of Rhodes, Lindos, with tours of its amazing Acropolis and ancient village. Stop at the renowned pottery village of Archangelos, and take in the majestic scenery of the Aegean Sea and nearby beaches.
What to Expect
This private shore excursion takes you to Lindos Acropolis and Medieval Lindos Village, plus the pottery village of Archangelos, and includes a licensed guide and transportation in a deluxe vehicle. Begin your day with a lovely one-hour scenic drive along the East Coast of the island, passing through forests, villages and ancient river beds.
Rhodes (Rhodos) is famous for its pottery, so we'll stop for a quick demo at the village of Archangelos. Shortly thereafter, we will arrive in Lindos, the "Jewel of the Island".
Surrounded by breathtaking views of the green-blue Aegean Sea and picturesque beaches, we'll walk up to the ancient and majestic Lindos Acropolis. It is here that we will learn of the Great Stoa, the massive Temple of Athena Lindia of the 4th century BC, the Ancient Theatre and the remains of the Temple of Dionysus.
Just below, the artistic Lindos Village is great for photo opportunities of the decorative white pebble artwork, medieval monasteries, cafes, tavernas, homes, shops, and galleries.
Our final stop is a visit to a 15th-century medieval church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, featuring an unusual belfry, carved icons and 17th century wall paintings. Guiding is not allowed in the church, so you will enjoy it in silence. From there, we will drive you back to the tour starting point.
