Full description

See whales and puffins seasonally between May and August on a whale-watching tour from Reykjavik. Marvel at the marine fauna of Iceland in its natural environment. Travel aboard a stable boat to search larger areas. Embark on your journey from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík aboard a specially-engineered RIB boat that maneuvers closer to the whales and puffins than bigger boats can. Search wider areas to increase your likelihood of viewing wildlife in this lightweight craft.  Ride out to the islands to see puffins in their natural surroundings before heading out further in search of whales and dolphins. Get as up close as you can without disturbing the magnificent creatures.  Listen as your specially-trained guides enhances your experience with commentary and use their skills to increase the chance of some viewings. On the return trip, sail along Reykjavik's shores and admire the city's skyline and view the Harpa Concert Hall from the water.

Es war bereits ein Abenteuer mit dem RIB-Boot über die Wellen (etwas windig, das offene Meer etwas unruhig) in der Abendsonne zu rasen. Die Papageientaucher sahen wir bereits nach 15 minütiger ruhiger Fahrt. Wir hatten Glück und konnten dann nach einer rasanten Fahrt die erste Fontäne eines Buckelwals sehen, den wir leise etwa 30 Minuten lang verfolgten. Er zeigte uns mehrmals seine Finne, auch Bauch und die Seitenflosse sahen wir aus nächster Nähe :-))) Auf der Rückfahrt drehten wir noch eine Runde vor der sonnenbestrahlten Skyline Reykjaviks. Es war fantastisch! Gefroren haben wir nicht dank geliehener Mütze, Schutzbrille, wasserdichten Handschuhen und des Overalls. Empfehlenswert *****

In realtà, a causa delle condizioni climatiche, l'uscita col motoscafo è stata annullata e siamo stati spostati sulla barca tradizionale. Abbiamo visto una megattera. È stato molto emozionante. Il comandante l'ha seguita, mantenendosi comunque ad una distanza sufficiente per non disturbarla. Si faceva un po' fatica a capire le spiegazioni dall'altoparlante
