Reykjavik: Whale Watching Tour by RIB Boat

We were taken out on the RIB boat by a lovely guide called Joel on Sunday 29 September. He was so passionate and knowledgeable about all the local wildlife, pointing out different species of rare birds, getting us to the whales quickly and telling us a lot of facts. He made the experience so exciting and you could just tell he absolutely loves his job. We managed to see 5 humpback whales, including a mum and baby which is very rare to see! And I saw a pod of white beaked dolphins but no one else spotted them as we were going too quick! It was such a brilliant experience and highly recommended it to anyone. My partner was quite worried as he gets sea sick but the RIB boat isn’t as bad as you’d think! It goes very fast but bounces up and down like a little rollercoaster- it was actually very fun. This experience also comes with tickets to the whale museum, which is worth a visit to see the scale of the whales you might have encountered! Highly recommend this company and Joel

Amazing trip on the 16th October where we saw 4 humpback whales together first then another 2 with a pod of dolphins!! The smaller boat (we only had 6 people)seemed much better than the bigger boat with less people, lower and quicker to get to the whales. Rebecca the guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and answered every question we all had! She was very passionate and so was the captain! You get waterproofs to put on and goggles which I definitely recommend!!! Excellent trip !!!
