Amazing activity. My 15 year old son and 13 year old daughter came with me. My son has ASD so some additional communication needs and Francesca was amazing with him! Absolutely beautiful views. No negatives

This has been on my bucket list for as long as I knew that Silfra existed, and this tour did not disappoint. When you arrive you check in and are handed a fleece jumpsuit to put on over your base layers and a dry bag to store your clothes and belongings in. Once you’ve got that on you’re given your dry suit and broken up into smaller groups of 6. Putting on a dry suit is a difficult task anytime, but especially in the winter with it constantly freezing into position. Chris was my guide, and he was extremely patient with all of us. He went above and beyond to help us all maneuver the frozen suits and triple check that all of our seals were water tight. He also made sure to take individual pictures of all of us when we were in the water! The water was about 13 degrees (C) warmer than the air, so the cold really wasn’t bad. Would highly recommend!!

Embark on an underwater experience like no other: Snorkeling between tectonic plates at the Silfra Fissure. Silfra boasts up to 150m of underwater visibility and is frequently ranked as one of the top dive sites in the world. Admire views of Iceland's stunning landscape as you ride from Reykjavik to the heart of Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Snorkel in this location for 45 min with your guide, before warming up with hot coco & cookies, then returning to the city. *Select Meet-on-Location to make your own way to Thingvellir - we'll meet you there!* The glacier waters come from Langjökull, 50 km (30 miles) away, and make their way through lava fields to beautiful Thingvellir Lake. Although the chilly waters are too cold to support much in the way of marine life, Iceland's Silfra crack runs down between the American and European continental plates -drifting apart at 2cm per year- and offers amazing, ethereally blue underwater views.

Meeting point

The Silfra car park in Thingvellir National Park is the meeting point. Please be ready in the Silfra car park to meet your guide 15 MINUTES before your tour is due to begin. Parking is at “Thingvellir P5”. To meet your guide walk 400m back along the road until you reach a smaller car park with all the snorkel and dive vans, and look for the Arctic Adventures van. This was an unbelievable experience! The guide was amazing. She was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We were provided everything we could need to have the best possible experience. The water was crystal clear and it was just beautiful. I also really loved the hot chocolate at the end! I would recommend this to anyone coming to Iceland!
