Full description
Enjoy the incredible opportunity to see puffin colonies while taking in the extraordinary backdrop of majestic Mount Esja and the city’s colorful skyline. Depending on the time of your visit, the mountains may be capped with ice and snow or colored bright purple with a blanket of summer lupin. At any time of the year, Reykjavík is always a stunning city to see from the water. During the summer months, these voyages will pass close to the famous puffin colonies of Faxaflói Bay. If that isn't enough, you'll get the opportunity to see whales in their natural habitat from a boat for small groups, so you won't have to worry about overcrowding or not getting the right spot to see these amazing creatures.

Unlike what the description used to say, this is really a 1 hour, not 2 hour tour. However, the manager acknowledged the mistake and offered to add in an extra hour of whale watching for a nominal fee, which we accepted. And man, are we glad that we did! In the beginning, we were skeptical because the only whale that showed up after a long speedy bumpy ride in the water was a shy minke whale that appeared for a brief moment far away. But after following the sea gulls, our boat ended up getting close to 3 humpbacks! It was so mesmerizing that it cut into our puffin time, but that’s okay.
