What People Are Saying About Reykjavik
With a great mixture of facts and humour along the way, we had a fantastic night, and the photos were a photographers dream
First time I went, the scale was 5 out of 9 which was quite high but the only thing we saw was a small smudge and things that we thought were just clouds. The light showed but very weak. The day after the scale was 4 but the moment we got out of Reykjavik the sky was immediately bright green. Beautiful! I luckily dared to ask if I could go for a second time although the lights were on the first time. This was also the cheapest northen light tour to book. You have to have a paper ticket even though it says you can have a mobile one so print it at the hotel to avoid queues
We barely saw the lights...just a light dusting. But they were there. There is absolutely no guarantee for a spectacle of green sheets and ribbons floating through the sky. It was the spoken poems of Einar Ben that our guide recited, the full moon, the clarity of the surroundings, the pure clean air and the Icelandic ballads sung to us in such a peaceful setting that made it So special. Lovely.
Worthwhile for a estimated 2/10, but turned out to be a 4/10 so better than anticipated.
We rescheduled for another try as the first night we could not see any light. For the next day, we were so lucky to witness twice the display of the lights! Even though they are weak but nothing to be blamed but the nature. All is well!
