- See Hekla, one of Iceland's most active volcanoes
- Enjoy the wonders of Landmannalaugar and reach the top of it's most colourful mountain, Brennisteinsalda
- Take a bath in a natural hot pool
From Reykjavik drive inland through the beautiful Thjorsardalur Valley towards Hekla Volcano. Passing extensive lava fields from previous eruptions, approach the Landmannalaugar area with its amazing peaks.
Start the day with lunch and set off on a 4-hour hike through the strangely sprawling lava fields of Laugahraun, Vondugil Canyon, and up to the summit of the colourful mountain of Brennisteinsalda, with its steaming vents and sulphur deposits.
Descend through the Grænagil Canyon, carved as a result of geodynamic activity of mountains, volcanos, and glacial rivers. If time and weather conditions allow, climb Bláhnúkur, a 60,000-year-old volcano with sweeping, panoramic views on the Landmannalaugar Valley.
Before getting on your return bus at 18:00, culminate the journey by having a bath in a natural hot pool, where both hot and cold water flow out from beneath Laugahraun - the perfect cocktail for an unforgettable bath.
