What People Are Saying About Raval Neighborhood
Great way to learn about the Barcelona most tourists won't see!
After three days in Barcelona, I was disappointed. I felt as though I'd gone to Disneyland, albeit with better food and wine. In fact, I was starting to dislike the city and wonder why I'd come at all. I decided that I needed to get a better sense of the city beyond the tourist hotspots in order to determine how I really felt, and I'm happy to say that Joseph's tour helped me to fall in love with it. Joseph does a fantastic job of providing insight into the real Barcelona. Whether he's explaining the hidden meanings of street art, identifying the historical significance of various courtyards and playgrounds, or telling the full story of Orwell's time in Barcelona, among other topics, he does so with an infectious passion for the city and its people (and its cats, as you'll see toward the end of the tour). I came away from the tour with an appreciation for Barcelona's liveliness and resilience and a resolve to visit again. Highly recommended!

Iosaf/Joseph meets in square behind Travel Bar *not in the bar*
We had to make a small effort to find the guide not in the bar, nor thanks to truthful directions from the workers in the tourist bars. Neither had we got internet confirmation through the supposed host company. We were a small group of sociology students and their teachers from Denmark. So We made a small effort to not be oblivious tourists for approximately 2 hours as we walked and listened to an insightful and informed commentary on Barcelona past and present, and its libertarian tradition from roots to present day. All this against backdrop of deciphered street art, symbols & surprising secret gardens. Our small group had many questions to ask not just about the route but how to contact Barcelona alternative or human rights groups et cetera. The erudition shown by Iosaf matched by his sincere hospitality. a real Barcelona a real world city. thank you. We recommend contacting him by email iosaf(dot)guide(at)gmail.
