What people are saying about Pyrenees
We were lucky with the weather, countryside beautiful,,Izi was a good driver, and he also explaining parts of the history of the two places we stopped at, prior to the lovely train journey to the actual Pyrenees. Lovely seeing the market in Vic, but difficult to get a coffee or shop for food to eat later, as it was so busy, but there was at least one smaller quiet cafe near the TI office. Apparently always so busy because the people come from afar to shop at the fruit and veg side of the market, well worth it for them too, beautiful produce. It was a very good trip and for anyone liking both looking at the countryside, a dip into Spanish history, and the beauty of the mountains, well worth it. If you have t brought food, good idea to shop for lunch at Vic as the cafes and eating bars at the base of the mountain, were busy too, as it is a ski resort too. Well worth the trip
Our guide, Anna, was a wonderful companion, driver and organizer. The city of Vic is interesting and nice, unfortunately we visited it under pouring, cold rain. The Valley of Nuria has spectacular views, however, it was snowing and raining alternatively (at the end of April) and freezing cold, so we could not spend much time outside. That was very unfortunate, because inside there was nothing to do, not even have lunch (only thing open where you could eat was a very unappealing and bad-smelling cafeteria). The train journey up and down the mountain was beautiful. The visit to the village at the bottom of the Nuria trail was lovely, a romantic and beautiful old, stone village. So, all in all, in good weather it is probably a pleasant experience, however for us it was rather uncomfortable and a bit boring, despite our guide’s lovely personality.
Eye popping locations packed into one day
Had a great time on this tour! I made the stupid mistake of Google mapping the wrong meeting point and nearly missed it but raced across town and the staff helped me run over and join the group just before boarding the bus. Our tour guide David was funny and engaging. All the places we visited were fantastic and I'm glad I made time to hike around Nuria since we had two free hours once we arrived. The mountains were beautiful (and this is from someone who spent many childhood days hiking in Canada). I wanted to thank David again as things were chaotic after the group returned to Barcelona and missed my chance to say goodbye. Great, fun day!
Rod was great! he was very patient and helpful by answering all the questions. also, one of the guests missed a train. He took another train, went back to get them and didn't make a big fuss about it. super friendly, super approachable Catalan gentle man. tips for those who want to visit the mountain, make sure to have an extra jacket or sweater because it can get bit chilly up north. also carry an umbrella just incase.
Our guide, Sergio, was entertaining, knowledgeable and very attentive to the group throughout the entire tour! We enjoyed all the stops and the beautiful sites, including centuries old churches, open market, and the picturesque town of Nuria. The scenic ride in the van and the train was informative and relaxing. Enjoyed both the guided and free time exploring the areas.
