Enjoy the fun sledge ride with Huskies in the wilderness! Learn the secrets of Husky mushing and ride the sledge of 6 huskies. Safari is around 30 minutes long (app.3-5 km) and after you hear storytelling about the adorable Husky dogs, while enjoying steaming berry juice in a cozy hut. The guided tour is family friendly. Pyhä Husky Farm is a privately owned farm in the wilderness. Address to the Pyhä Husky Farm is: Molkankummuntie 225, 98100 Kemijärvi. When you wish to arrive on your own, make sure to arrive to the farm on time – if you arrive early, wait us at the Husky Farm parking lot for the starting time. Don't be late and please do not enter the farm without a guide. Please be ready all winter clothes on at tour starting time! PLEASE NOTICE IN ALL SAFARIS! One adult needs to drive always the sledge. We always drive sledges full. In one sledge can be two adults and some children. There is of course a possibility to switch mushers at the halfway point if there is two adults in one sledge! Children under 18 year old can´t drive the sledge, but sometimes if conditions are correct our safari guides can make exception. Children under 4 year old can´t participate safaris. Unfortunately, due to safety reasons, children under 4 years-old cannot take part in the safari. Really young children body is not develop enough to handle the cold what can get in the husky sledge and also the speed and sudden stops what can happen during the safari. We have also notice that quite often children from 6 years and under start to cry for the cold feeling and they don´t understand how to handle to cold feeling. Please thing couple times would the short family husky safari be better for your child. Infant price only includes farm visit and not safari. We can´t guarantee that hole family is in the same sledge! Smaller child can sit on adult's lap, but if children are too big then we may divide family`s one adult in the other sledge, with another single customers. We will decide this on the spot how the families are divided. In case neither of the persons wish to do the mushing, a separate musher can be organised for an additional fee, but this is only in special situations and you need to book it advance with extra cost. Transportation to the farm is not included in the experience. If you wish to be add transportation, please add it during reservation. Your pickup time will be informed after making the booking. Pickups from Pyhä start about 30 minutes before the experience. Pickups from Luosto start 45 minutes before the experience. Winter clothing is not included in this experience. If you need warm clothes and shoes, make sure to add it separately during reservation process. We don´t have winter clothes at the Farm! The warm winter clothing and shoes will be given before heading to the farm. When arriving with your own car, make sure to have proper winter clothes or organize them through us in advance –

Experience the magnificent landscape, beautiful natural features and peace of Pyhä-Luosto National Park. Pyhä-Luosto National Park is a superb destination for day trips year around. The basic zone of the National Park is formed of Finland’s most southern fell chain. The area has many functions; it is for conserving nature, preserving indigenous people’s culture and serving as a destination for hiking and tourism. The National Park consists of Pyhätunturi National Park which is established in 1938 and of the Luosto area northwest of Pyhätunturi Fell. These were combined at the beginning of 2005 to form a new National Park. In southwest areas of Ukko-Luosto Fell and Lampivaara Hill forests have not been logged and some trees are as old as 400 years. The Luosto area is known for its majestic old-growth pine forests and Pyhätunturi for its geology and Sámi history. The fell chain is a collage of treeless peaks and deep ravines. Lush forests, some of them herb-rich forests, flourish in the area’s valleys and along brook banks. The Lampivaara Amethyst Mine is a sectioned off area within Pyhä-Luosto National Park. Quartz is the most common mineral in the earth’s crust after feldspar. Amethyst a rare violet coloured see-through form of quartz has been found at Lampivaara in Luosto. The clearest parts of the amethyst found at Lampivaara are classified as a gem and is often used in jewellery. Gathering amethyst gems from the National Park is forbidden except from the Amethyst mine. On the top of Lampivaara fell there is the only operative amethyst mine in Europe. It may be the only gem mine in whole world that welcomes visitors. In warm cosy Lappish hut the mine visitors hear the fascinating stories of amethyst, how it was formed 2 000 000 millions of years ago, how the place was found and how the mine is run on permanent progress principle, how people in all cultures have believed in the mystical powers of amethyst and other interesting tales found in ancient legends. We will reach the top of Lampivaara fell by a special snow car that can take many passengers at the same time. We will listen to the stories about the amethyst mine in a comfortable hut where we can also see samples of amethyst stones found from the area. After stories the visitors are guided to the mine and each will dig and find a personal lucky amethyst for keeps. You will also see and experience amazing winter view and snowy trees on the top of the fell so this trip is very suitable for photographing as well. Light lunch is included. We will be back in town at about 17:00.

This entry-level snowshoeing tour includes a PyhäExpress chair lift ticket to the top of Pyhä Fell (weather permitting) for the best possibly views across the Pyhä-Luosto National Park and beyond! Our guide will show you how to use snowshoes in a safe environment while sharing stories of the Arctic nature, the surrounding landmarks, and the old Lappish beliefs. Pyhä Fell offers many opportunities for photographing the changing landscape and and the surrounding nature. The frosty snow starts to cover the trees up in the fell right when the first sub-zero temperatures arrive and the warm and moist air starts to rise from the valley to the top of the fell. Photographers especially are mesmerized by these fairytale-like snow monsters and the different shapes and sizes the snow creates around the trees. Depending on time of year, you may also capture the Polar night sunrise/sunset colors or halos around the sun on a frosty winter day. Camera is a must-have accessory for the Scenic Snowshoeing Tour! After visiting the top, if desired, we will walk down near the Pyhä-Luosto National Park. On the route back there are plenty to see, for example the reindeer paddock. Go and say hi to friendly reindeers (when they are available)! The tour can and will be tailored based on the clients’ request. Also suitable for a family (snowshoes for kids also available).

Explore the Pyhätunturi area with snowshoes and access the untouched snow in the beautiful arctic wilderness of Finnish Lapland. This snowshoeing tour will take you into the snowy terrain around Pyhä Ski Resort and Pyhä-Luosto National Park and it's the perfect way to experience the nature in Lapland. We will begin our snowshoeing tour from Pyhätunturi Ski Resort area. You'll get to walk with snowshoes in the tranquil wilderness and enjoy the clean air and nature of Finnish Lapland. On this tour you get to experience the beautiful winter landscape of Pyhätunturi. Earlier experience with snowshoes is not needed as your guide will teach you how to use the snowshoes. During the snowshoeing tour we will have a light meal by the open fire in traditional Finnish campsite. The activity is organised in Pyhätunturi area and the meeting point is in the parking lot in front of Naava visitor center from where we will begin our tour. Due to the wide, well-gripping tyres it runs smooth also on soft snow, and thanks to the electric power unit, an e-fatbike flattens the uphills. However, the joy of pedaling is not taken away. Experiencing nature from the middle of a lake is truly something else – hardly any mosquitoes in summer and open views. Come with us for a guided canoe tour. We will teach you Technic of Canoeing so you can be beginner. One canoe is suitable for 2 to 3 persons and kayak for one. Starting time is flexible and in summer the experience can also take place during the evening. Lake Pyhäjärvi is a beautiful 3 km wide lake and on the shores you can see Forrest, beach and if you are lucky some reindeer walking around.
