Full description
Your experience will begin as you are picked up in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. From there you will drive through the beautiful landscape towards La Romana whilst your tour guide provides you with a rundown of your experience for the day. They will also provide you with all you need to know about the tobacco industry and its history. You will first be taken to the Cigar Country by VegaFina outlet, where you will be provided with safety shoes, face masks, and a short briefing. Following that you will head out for an up-close-and-personal tour of the Tabacalera De Garcia Cigar Factory, the largest premium handmade cigar factory on the world. This unique experience will take you through the entire process, from the tobacco leaf’s cultivation through to its cure, aging, preparation, blending for different cigars, rolling, preservation, and special box fabrication. Following the factory visit you will return to the Cigar Country by VegaFina Outlet, where the finest brands of hand rolled quality cigars are available and can be purchased at duty free prices. You will eventually end your day with a visit to the beautiful artisan village of Altos de Chavon, a model 16th-century Mediterranean village sculpted entirely of stone, also known as the "City of Artists". There you will have free time to explore, and can even enjoy some snacks or a drink (not included) on your own, overlooking the beautiful Chavon River.
