That was surprisingly good! We usually don't do guided tours, but this was our only option to go to Catalina Island. However, the guide was friendly, except a short toilet stop no time at souvenir shop was wasted. We got to the harbor in Bayahibe soon, the Catamaran was nice as well, we were lucky that the used the sail, many of them just cruise with the engine. Snorkeling time could be a little longer and you had to carry a vest for security, but the coral wall was cool indeed and much more to see than the Bayahibe artificial reef. Buffet Food was okay, the grilled Pollo and meat quite good. Beach area on Catalina Island was good for a stroll, but about 2kms from the Bar the beach becomes private with no trespassing. In conclusion a very nice day trip. I don't know if we were one lucky group or the service stated in the other reviews got better! Would recommend!

All in all, the tour is quite nice, but we expected more from it. You drive from the port of Bayahibe (where you are really harassed by vendors) to the island about an hour and a half by catamaran. The ride is really cool because the team creates a lot of atmosphere. On the way there, you will stop at a place to snorkel. We were told we had 40 minutes but were called out of the water after 30 minutes. Then you drive on to the island, where you have a small stretch of beach. So you don't see much of the island, only a tiny part. Several people want to sell you something there again. There is then a lunch buffet on site. There are a lot of mosquitoes there. If you wanted, you could continue snorkeling on the beach, but the way into the water is quite rocky there. After about 2 hours you start back again.

Small communication problems on the pick-up time. Nevertheless, great activity! Large catamaran so not the feeling of being on it a lot. Snorkeling in a beautiful spot, nice crew, good meal on site, nothing to say
