This was more watching a chef at work which is like watching an artist at work. We were given some tasks like chopping and flipping the frying pan but it was magical just watching a chef at work and being amazed at the dishes he turned out. He made us a seafood meal that consisted of appetizers, entrees and dessert. We had a BIG meal of salmon ceviche, swordfish, salmon (sushi like), greek salad, mussels, paella and a couple of desserts. It was a lot! I have to say that the meal alone was worth the price of the class. Our chef was very pleasant and personable. Our tour guide, Flora, ate with us and provided a great conversation. It was a total joy! Thank you!
I had expected to be part of the cooking process but I just watched and took notes because there was no handout recipe to take home. The Chef made an amazing meal. The price of the tour was worth it just for the meal! The tour organization was poor as I waited 1/2 hour after the provided driver dropped me off before the Chef started and waited another 1/2 - 3/4 hour for the provided ride back to my hotel. They called it a 3 hour tour. Perhaps it should have been billed as a 2 hour tour.
