Svatá Klára Restaurant, or Saint Clara, named for the patroness of a nearby chapel, was originally a wine cellar in one of Prague's vineyards, housing the grapes for Emperor Charles IV. Created from a cave approximately 52 feet below surface level after the completion of Troja Castle, it was used to store Count Václav Vojtìch of Sternberk's wines.
Today, the owners have succeeded in creating a unique restaurant filled with antique furniture, baroque statues, period paintings, and Persian carpets. As you dine on your 6-course meal, enjoy the warmth of the cave's fireplace.
Santa Clara offers an extensive menu with a variety of local and foreign wines, as well as a culinary adventure ranging from the traditional and modern to the trendy and seasonal.
