What to Expect
Learn about the ancient history of port wine and the cuisine of Porto on a 3-hour tour of the city center. See centuries-old monuments and take in spectacular views of the River Douro.
Explore the Bolhão Market, known for its foods and fruits, visit the eccentric Majestic Café, and admire the decorative blue-tiled walls of São Bento Railway Station.
You’ll see the Wine Institute of Douro and Porto, which coordinates all wine activities in these areas, and the Old British Trading Post, and end with a visit to a traditional wine cellar in Vila Nova de Gaia, where you’ll taste fine port wine.
After the city tour, you’ll enjoy either lunch or dinner, depending on the time booked. Eat on your own or with your guide, and savor Portuguese specialties, along with pastry and a cup of traditional coffee. (Please note: alcoholic beverages are not included in the price).
