What to Expect
Marvel at the Baroque houses and churches of Porto, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, and host of the European Capital of Culture in 2001. Easy to walk, the compact city boasts many splendid monuments, such as the statue to Henry the Navigator, and the graceful Palácio da Bolsa.

A short tutorial is provided before each tour, describing the history of the city’s historical center and suburbs. Starting from the central Avenida dos Aliados, discover 19th-century urban palaces, trading posts used by the British for the export of Port wine, and Gothic revival bookstores.

The tour includes several historical sites inscribed by UNESCO as of World Heritage significance, such as the neoclassical Stock Exchange (Palácio da Bolsa), and Manueline-style Church of Santa Clara.
