See Porto like a local during this city tour and river cruise. Enjoy a traditional lunch and take in all the best sights in the city.
What to Expect
After pick up from your hotel by an air-conditioned minivan, head to Porto's historical center where you will take a walking tour to see the most iconic and photographed sights in the city. This includes: one of the most recognized libraries of the world, the Nasoni Tower where you can climb 240 steps to the top of the spiral staircase and enjoy impressive views, and the Cathedral, one of the oldest monuments in the city.
Pass the famous Boavista sports club, the Casa da Música, Avenida da Boavista, the Old Foz District and the beaches, before returning to the heart of the city. At lunchtime, choose from 3 venues to enjoy the local cuisine.
Discover the city's magic from the water, on a 50 minute cruise. The tour is conducted in a Rabelo boat, a typically Portuguese boat found on the Douro River. The boats traditionally carried port wine casks from the vineyards at Alto Douro to Vila Nova de Gaia Porto, where the wine was stored and later sold or shipped to other countries.
You can't leave Porto without tasting the nectar of the gods, so during your tour visit a typical old Port cellar for some Port tasting.
After the wine tasting, head to the fishing hamlet of Afurada. Walking along its streets in the summer, you can smell the delicious grilled fish. Head to the natural reserve, where the Douro River meets the Atlantic Ocean,.
End your tour with a visit to the Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar. At the top of the monastery, take photos of the breathtaking views and the unique circular structure of the monastery — a one of a kind in Portugal.
