I loved this tour for the value!!! We went to porto cruz.....and had the whole process fully explained with a tasting of 4 ports. The second place however is off the beaten track and just amazing .....small business but the best ports. And then Churchill...young but tasty and a tour of a full operating cellar....and I met Mr Tom Graham- previous owner of Grahams but now owns Churchill. The tour guide and everyone she introduced us to made such a kind effort to greet us and be incredibly hospitable and friendly. So worth the value too......amazing ports amd great variety....no 2 tasted the same.
Brilliant trip by Norberto! He picked us up from our hotel on time and was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Dropped us off at the start of the Paiva walkway and was there to meet us at the end to take us to a traditional Portuguese restaurant for a lovely lunch. We were then driven to Aveiro for a walk around the town (with a market) and had a nice 45 minute trip on a ‘gondola’ before making our way on to our final stop for the day, Costa Nova, with its brightly painted fishermens cottages.
An enjoyable way to spend an afternoon if you are in Porto. The 3 different port wine houses gave a good variety of different tastes and styles of port wine. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a trip down to see some of the barrels and casks during one of the stops. There was a tour guide who accompanied us and was able to answer all of our questions. This tour is a great way to find out what sort of port wines are for you.
Maybe because of Corona but we where With just with a small group at the porthouse and tablewine Vineyard. Great views. Especially the lunch was at a beautifull location where I would go back to. Great fibe. Make sure to bring some extra water and have a good breakfast. Not all wine tastings are great. But you will get sufficient types of wine and Port to try.
The wine tasting was overall great! with our guide Marianna Cardoso we first visitied a cellar in Gaia and then came back to Porto to drink different types of local wine in two different bars. We learned a lot about the history of porto and other local wines and Marianna kindly gave us a lot of suggestions about sightseeing, food and drinks in the city.
