Full description
Explore one of the most unknown treasures in Portugal and discover the nature of Gerês-National Park during a small group tour. The itinerary can be altered to make the best of the weather conditions in winter and summer. Leave your accommodation in Porto in the morning and travel to the Gerês National Park in an air-conditioned Land Rover. After around 90 minutes, arrive to the heart of Gerês. Imagine fantastic green lagoons where you can swim and relax, hear the sound of the waterfalls and see amazing rainbows. Visit an old village, where you will meet the locals and enjoy a traditional Portuguese lunch with local green wine (included). Continue to one of the most beautiful and unknown lagoons in Gerês National Park: the blue lagoon. Explore remote areas of the park and enjoy the breathtaking valley. During your exploration, if you're lucky, you might even see the wild horses (Garranos). End your visit to Gerês at one of the most impressive viewpoints in the region.  After a full day enjoying the best spots of Gerês National Park, relax on the trip back to your Porto accommodation, arriving in the early evening.

We met around 8:15 right in front of our hostel which made the whole journey very comfortable. Our guide, Luis was so happy, active, talkative, warm and friendly that he immediately made the journey worthwhile. It was impressive how he paid attention to us, to the road when he was driving, the topics we talked about and also of what might be interesting for us. Whilst in the national park, he was so patient, funny and encouraging, also asked about our food preferences which made me so happy since it shows he really cared about us having a great experience. He knows nature and the park and the village so well, it shows right away. Also his personality was a perfect fig for our trip, and even though others in the car were slightly more reserved, he didn’t hold back the energy and his outgoing personality which made our trip extremely pleasant. The view, the food that was served in the village, the swimming in both of the lakes, the rock climbing, the road trips, just awesome.

The jeep trip was very fun, authentic and original. The guide very kind, very professional and attentive, mastering French perfectly. We have discovered exceptional places known to few people. The canoe in the morning and the restaurant at noon, typical and well representative of Portugal with always very nice people. We had a great day. Especially since we come to pick you up and bring you back to your house.

I recommend everyone to visit the park, our guide Isabel was an adventure companion among breathtaking views, group photos and typical dishes. We visited the village of Fafiao in its tranquility, where you can still see its inhabitants going to the grazing or heading towards the fields with the hoe on your shoulder. A not too tiring day that is worth living.
