What to Expect

For those who don't have much time but want to see Porto's essential sites, you can see the main landmarks of the city on a quicker route. Get to know the city's history and how it developed with the arrival of the Romans. Learn more about the Moorish and Castilian invasions and the more recent one in the 19th century by Napoleon's troops.
Visit the Lello & Irmão bookstore, frequented by J.K Rowling, and the Clerics Tower. If you decide to climb the 240 steps, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the city. Shortly after, arrive at S. Bento Railway station built on the site of a former Benedictine convent inside the walled city. This is also one of the landmarks of the city and one of the most well-known stations in the world.
Visit the Cathedral and the convent of Santa Clara and learn about its history. The tour continues on to Vila Nova de Gaia by the upper deck of the Luís I bridge. Visit the Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar and its round-shaped church, the only one of its kind in the country.
