Get to know Porto with a half-day walking tour. Visit the most emblematic places of the city center, as well as other lesser-known but authentic and defining sites. After meeting in Praça dos Leões, visit the Bank of Tiles. You'll also get to check out the nearby Carmelitas and Carmo churches. Continue toward Lello Bookshop, one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, stopping at Clérigos Tower. Walk along Aliados Avenue, pausing on Santa Catarina Street for a visit to see where pastéis de nata (a Portuguese egg tart pastry) is made. Next is the S. Bento Railway Station, with its architectural richness and panel of tiles. See the Porto Sé Cathedral, then head down typical Porto streets toward the Ribeira of Porto. Walk through the daily Ribeira Market, before making your way to the Church of São Francisco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
