What to Expect
On this private excursion you’ll be met at the Port Said port and travel to Cairo in a luxury air-conditioned motor coach. After the 3-hour drive you’ll have the full day to experience the treasures of ancient Egypt!
When you arrive in Cairo your first stop will be the Citadel of Saladin and the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali. You can admire the exquisite interiors of the Mosque and view the fascinating skyline of Old Cairo from the top of the hill.
Next you’ll travel to the banks of the Nile River where a luxurious cruise boats awaits to take you down this timeless waterway traversed by pharaohs, queens, and nobles thousands of years ago. On board you’ll enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch in the elaborate setting of the ship’s interior as you glide past Cairo’s waterfront landmarks. In addition to lunch there’s also a folkloric presentation and belly dancer performance.
Following the cruise you’ll be taken by coach to the Giza Plateau where you’ll visit the Pyramids and see the only Wonder of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World still standing –the Great Pyramid of Khufu. You’ll have time here to explore the pyramid complex on your own.
Then you’ll continue by coach down into the valley where you’ll see the guardian of this mortuary complex, the Great Sphinx, where it stands watching the passage of time in silence.
At the end of the tour the coach will take you back to your cruise ship in Port Said.
