The trip was very interesting, but I think there should be more time to visit Avignon rather there spending an hour in Les Boux or watching the Roman Pont du Gard, which you could do in 15 minutes. Very dissappointing wine tasting; the sommalier was extremely unfriendly, not explaining anything about wines we were trying. I guess they think their wines are so good and famous that they don't need any marketing, but what she was presenting was in fact anti-marketing. It spoilt somehow the overall impression of the trip.
Our guide, Ginny (Virginia), was very friendly and informative. She made the journeys in between the locations fun and was very happy to answer questions etc. Each location was worth stopping at although it would have been nice to have longer in the village near the Quarry of Lights. But overall it was very enjoyable and we are glad we signed up.
Good guide. Strong wind. My kids were less interested in the history than me, end of a 17 day trip...so dampened tour for me...but guide was very good. Recommended a great lunch spot. We really enjoyed the Festival and seeing the Pope's Palace after the tour ended.
Claude was a very knowledgeable guide who showed us the highlights of the old city in Avignon. We got some interesting history plus information about local and current highlights.
Great scenery, good tastes. Our guide was really with information about the city and the region of Provence, their way customs, way of life etc.
