My husband & I enjoyed seeing this amazing archeological site with our guide. She spoke English quite well & was very informative, unfortunately I don’t remember her name but I think it was Hillary. I can’t imagine seeing Pompeii for the first time without a tour guide. The site is huge & the guide told us details about each “building”. She gave us information about daily life in Pompeii, the eruption of Vesuvius and many more details about the bath houses, the “Red Light District”, the streets and so on. At the end of the tour we were allowed to stay at the site and see more things on our own. We took the local Circumvesuviana train from Sorrento to Pompeii & met our guide close to the train stop. The directions provided were helpful & easy to follow. The only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars is because we felt that the guide was at times rushed and didn’t allow enough time to take pictures, we also had to walk fast to stay in the group.
It works well but the ticket you are emailed to download doesn't actually get you in... You get sent back to the ticket queue and go to a window for fast track customers and they then give you a paper ticket. Bit odd that you can't get in with your ticket on your phone
Tickets were fantastic, arrived at Pompeii and went to fast track section and there was no queue, others on our trip who didn’t have the fast track pass had to wait in a huge queue to get in, highly recommend these tickets
There was no line to skip in our case. Also as mentioned in the “one sentence” Aguirre trip would have been better (we just couldn’t make the time). It is too big to effectively do alone. Totally worth going to.
The tour was good and the guide was knowledgeable. I would recommend staying on after the two hour tour to explore the amphitheatre and other areas. It was a very worthwhile visit to Pompeii.
