Pokhara is situated at an elevation of 915m above sea level and 200m west of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Pokhara is a valley rich in pure natural beauty, it is indeed one of the main attractions for visitors from all over the world.
Three out of the ten highest mountains in the world. — Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I and Manaslu — are within 30 miles (linear distance) of the city, so that the northern skyline of the city offers a very close view of the Himalayas. Due to its proximity to the Annapurna mountain range, the city is also a base for trekkers undertaking the Annapurna Circuit through the ACAP region of the Annapurna ranges in the Himalayas.
This one-day tour will give a taste of Pokhara, beginning with sunrise at Sarangkot. In the morning, drive to Sarangkot for sunrise and view of the Himalayas. In the afternoon, visit Mahendra cave, a Tibetan camp and the international Mountain Museum, as well as visiting the Shang Gadhen Choekorling Monastery to see Tibetan refugees camp and experience praying with them as well.
