What to Expect
Depart Playa del Carmen and head to the ruins of the ancient city of Tulum. Take a guided tour of the archaeological site to see the remains of palaces and temples. Learn about the amazing infrastructure of the 10th-century city, and admire the contrast between the culture of the Mayan civilization and the spectacular nature of its setting.
Get breathtaking views of the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea from Tulum's cliff-top location. Then, go to the Grand Cenote to discover one of the largest and most popular of the fascinating system of underground rivers and swimming holes of the Riviera Maya. Swim in the deep waters underground in what is considered to be the 9th longest system of wet or dry caves in the world. Look at the incredible stalactites and stalagmites inside the cave.
Next, head to Playa Paraiso for some more snorkeling at a nearby reef. Relax on the beach and top up your tan before the return journey to Playa del Carmen for your hotel drop off.
