What people are saying about Pisa
Our guide, Sarah, was great. Friendly and informative. There are A LOT of people on the tour. For some reason, I thought it would be a smaller group. Would have loved more free time in Siena and definitely in San Gimignano, which was fantastic. I really appreciated that they offered both vegetarian and vegan options at the winery lunch. That was a huge plus! Both me and my sister could have done without Pisa. It’s out of the way, which makes the bus ride extra long on the way back (and there), cuts your time in the other better places (adding to a rushed feeling), and Pisa did not have a good feel. Other than the leaning tower, there wasn’t that much to the city and it didn’t feel particularly welcoming. Also, apparently there’s a big issue with girls and women pickpockets there, which also made us feel uneasy. Walkabout tours: please cut Pisa out and give more time in the other towns, or consider a town closer to the others or to Florence, like Lucca. Also, lots of walking to/from bus
This is a whole day trip, where you get to see the best of the Tuscany region. It’s practical and everything from transport, tour guide/explanations, food and wine tasting is well and fully organized. Our tour leader, Dario was very accommodating, entertaining and well-versed about the region. He was one of the highlights of the trip for us because of his fun and welcoming nature. I’d say it’s definitely worth the money, especially if you have little time and would like to see as much as possible, or if you’re planning to make a private trip through Tuscany in the future and would like to check out the region as a whole to get a picture of where to go and where to stay. Thank you for the great time!
We enjoyed our tour of Tuscany tremendously with Walkabout Florence! Our driver Nando and our guide Gloria were amazing and informative. The tour gives you a behind the scenes look at many places that a typical visitor may not ever get to see you. Having lunch at the Vineyard was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There were so many added bits of information along the way that gave you a lot of history and local knowledge of the area. We would highly recommend anyone to take the tour. It is something that should not be missed.
Our guide Sara was simply fantastic. She had so much information, was very lovely and really made the tour authentic. The bus was comfortable, cool and modern. The tour was really good as our first experience of the Tuscan region. It gave us a taste of a few different things rather than focusing on one thing. We had free time in each location, a beautiful lunch and wine tasting. We loved the day! Well worth the money.
Our tour guide - Angela - was so passionate, energetic and enthusiastic about sharing the culture of Tuscany that you could not help be motivated and excited to learn and be involved in the tour. The tour bus driver was extremely safe and cautious driving thus, I felt safe at all times. All in all it's a fantastic tour experience.
