From the wonders of the Piazza dei miracoli to the astonishing view of the Arno embankments.
Your qualified local specialist will take you off the beaten paths, to discover the beaten heart of an extraordinary city.
What to Expect
You will be taken along Via Santa Maria, with its superb late renaissance palaces, built over the skeletons of medieval tower houses.
Proceeding towards the historic centre, you'll visit: the XI century Church of San Sisto, the superb Square of the Knights, designed and remodelled by Giorgio Vasari in the XVI century to host the headquarters of the Order of the Knights of Saint Stephen, founded by Cosmo de Medici in 1561.
Then you will finally reach Borgo Stretto, the real medieval heart of Pisa, with its beautiful palaces and arcades, and will see the house where Galilei was born.
From here you will then reach the Arno River and finally cross the Middle Bridge to enjoy an amazing view of the Arno’s riversides, the so called "Lungarni". From there begins the way back to the square of Miracles, passing through medieval little streets.
Once back to the Square of Miracles, your tour guide will tell you all the secrets about the cathedral, the Baptistery and monumental Cemetery, focusing especially on the famous leaning tower with the option (at the cost of 5€ per person) to continue the visit (about 20 minutes more) inside the Duomo and the Baptistery.
