Pico de las Nieves

Explore Gran Canaria on a guided day trip from Las Palmas in an air-conditioned vehicle. Continue driving to reach Pico de las Nieves, the summit of Gran Canaria, which sits at 1,959 meters where you can enjoy stunning views of the high neighboring peaks, and if the weather is clear, see all the way to the island of Tenerife. Make your way to the Roque Nublo, a huge volcanically-formed basalt rock that is over 65 meters. Stop at the Cross of Tejeda where you can taste plenty of local Canarian products such as cheese, honey, and fruit. Visit the village of Teror, where you can go for a walk through the charming village and see the Basilica of the Lady of the Pine. Return to Las Palmas at the end of your day trip.

Head to the Bandama volcano, the first stop on this 8-hour tour. See the largest crater of an extinct volcano on the island and enjoy views of the east coast, mountains and Las Palmas. Continue to Santa Brígida, admire its historical centre and learn about its history. Continue up to Pico de las Nieves, the island’s highest point. Take in views that often include the neighbouring island of Tenerife. Visit San Bartolomé, a mountain village with an ethnographic museum that you can visit free of charge. Stop for lunch at a traditional taverna in the village of Fataga (additional cost). Afterwards, head to the Maspalomas sand dunes and enjoy 45 minutes of free time before returning back to Las Palmas.

We will pass track located in the central part of the island, near the highest peak of Gran Canaria - Pico de las Nieves (1957 m above sea level). One of the attractions is the view of the neighboring Roque Nublo, the east and south coast of the island and, if the visibility is good, the view of Pico de Teide (3718 m above sea level). In addition to attractive views of the surrounding villages, we will also see amazing rock formations and forests covered with Canary pine. After hiking we will visit a local restaurant where we will try regional dishes. Attention!
