7 Great Attractions in Phuket

For a city with a slightly more provincial feel than Bangkok, look no further than Phuket. Its Buddhist temples and stunning sea will seduce you!

Big Buddha

The Nakkerd Hills serve as Big Buddha's seat. Made out of marble and funded by donation, it's visible from Phuket's south side and you can also climb the hills to get up close.

Andaman Islands

Zoom by speedboat around the nearby islands in the Andaman Sea - you'll practically be James Bond for a few hours!

Elephant Trekking

The elephant is the Thai national symbol, so getting to trek on the back of one of these revered animals is a very special opportunity.

Thai Cookery School

Experienced chefs teach you how to cook classic and authentic dishes, including Pad Thai and Tom Yum Koong. These are lessons you can take home with you!

Trickeye Museum

Take hilarious photos that will astound your family and friends as you tightrope between two cliffs (3D paintings, but they don't need to know that...).

Wat Chalong Temple

Golden buddha statues and firecracker ceremonies are just some of the sacred features of one of Phuket's most important temples.

This amusement park offers dance shows, a replica traditional Thai village, and different types of food on offer - if you're traveling with kids, it will be a fun day out.

Phuket: Our Tips

When should I go?

Anytime except September and October, as this is monsoon season and may cause travel difficulties and uncertainties.

Do I need to wear any special clothes for temples?

Make sure your shorts or pants cover your knees, and don't wear a sleeveless shirt - if in doubt, bring a scarf. You should also keep talking to a minimum in holy places.

What People Are Saying About Phuket

Good services but a bit different than promised

The service in general was good and almost on time but there were some issues: -They agreed to pick me in hotel at 8:00 and finally they arrived at 9:00 -The ticket I bought was to go in mini van and then boat but finally it was by bus and boat -1 hour waiting for the boat -Arrived 1 hour later in Koh Tao

This tour shows why Phuket is sooo popular

This tour has it all. There's snorkeling with tropical fish, there's white sand beaches, clear blue water, and stunning rock formations. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They even have someone with an underwater camera taking pictures and videos. I can't wait to see how they turned out. The snacks and beverages are an awesome bonus too. I liked how the scheduled the tour so that we'd go to the popular spots at less busy times.

It does make difference. I am considering running a Thai restaurant

The location is wonderful, facing Adaman sea, endless blue. The instructor James is humorous, very skillful in teaching. Waida is funny in the class as well, if she can offer more guidance on the selection of ingridient, she will be perfect. Get is energetic. We learnt a lot in the class: 1. How to manage the kitchen table. Now I will not mess up the table. 2. How to make delicious food. Back home, I made Beef in red curry, Yamee ... 3. How to make delicious food efficiently. They will push you speed up and you can alway manage it. 4. How to decorate your food. Now I can carve fruit or vegatable to make the plate look good If you plan to go, go with empty stomach. You will have sufficient food for whole day : - ) And you will be eager to finish every plate. It is time for me to exercise at home now.
