Segway the streets of Philadelphia on a 1-hour adventure tour, and ride along the banks of the Delaware River. Explore the neighborhoods of South Philly, Society Hill, and the Historic District, visiting the bustling Italian Market along the way.
What to Expect
Explore Philadelphia by self-balancing Segway for a unique, eco-friendly view of the “City of Botherly Love.” Before you set off, you will get a full training session on the futuristic mode of transport, so that you feel confident and safe as you venture onto Philly's streets.
Cruise through the Historic District to Penn's Landing and the Delaware River via Welcome Park, where your guide will tell you about the origins of the city and the grid-like streets that date back to the time of William Penn. Glide along the banks of the River Delaware, and then pass many of the historic homes en route to South Philly, now a wonderful tree-lined residential neighborhood filled with some great little coffee shops and restaurants. Hear about the riots of the 1800s.
Wind your way to the Italian Market, home to many generations of Italian immigrants, and now popular with Asian and Mexican communities. Marvel at the street murals along the way. Segway back to the start point via Society Hill, passing the mosaics of Magic Gardens. See some of the major monuments of the Historic District, such as the First Bank of the United States, and the old churches that helped establish William Penn's "Freedom of Worship" philosophy.
Your guide will take photos of your group throughout the tour, and upload the photos for your viewing pleasure when you get back to a computer.
