What People Are Saying About Pena Palace
Jaime was a delightful young man with an excellent knowledge of the area. He quickly established a rapport with the group and provided a real insight into the history and geography of the area
Great guide, really passionate about Portugal - we loved the trip and would be very happy to come back again!
I can't tell you how much O have raved to people about this excursion, Firstly a thankyou to Jaime our guide, his knowledge is incredible, on top of that an all round really nice guy. I always say I am going to leave reviews on places but don't bother then, but this day trip was so special, absolute highlight of our trip to Lisbon! So well planned & cant believe we could fit so much into 8 hours! Also this is such incredible value for what you get. As I result I cannot wait to go back to Sintra & Cascais. Beautiful places that way exceeded my expectations! This trip is a must! He also gave us great tips & advice about the city & recommended using Uber which was a first for us but was also great value to get from the city to the airport. Thanks again to Jaime, a true scholar & gentleman. Everyone who visits Lisbon with enough time for one trip should add this Sinta and Cascais to the itinerary. Sintra requires more time than one half day but for a short visit I suggest that the tour guide spend less time at the palace and more time carving out time for sites like Quinta da Regaleira (amazing if you enjoy being outside). Our guide gave us an option and those of us who went to the Quinta were exhilarated by the experience--but we didn't have enough time to get through if we were to walk back to town and get lunch. Cascais was just a drive-through then a stop to walk around, which was perfect since the morning in Sintra was busy. The drive by and photo stop at Cabo da Roca was the most beautiful on the trip. The guide, Katarina, was polished and knowlegeable, and went the extra effort to pick us up at wickedly difficult spots to make the trip easier for those of us with knee problems. She also told enriching stories and made recommendations for lunch, pastry and gelato.
Well paced, unhurried tour. Our guide, José V., added interest to the sights with his commentary and stories. Small group size meant we could leave and reboard our van quickly, so no long waits at each stop. And there was a good balance between group activity and free time. We had a great day! Re questions about my ticket saving time...the ticket was never an issue. Our guide called our names and we went with him, never having to show our ticket.
