Explore central Paris on the “Green Route,” an enchanting 1-3 hour stroll that takes in the elaborate façade of the Palais Garnier opera house, the extravagant jewelers of the Rue de la Paix, and the regal architecture of Place Vendôme. Walk past the upscale boutiques of the Rue Saint Honoré and Rue de Rivoli. Admire the glory of the Tuileries Garden by the Louvre Museum. Marvel at the Beaux-Arts beauty of the Musée d'Orsay, and take a stroll over the Pont des Arts. Other highlights include the ornate façade of the Palais Royal, and the covered passages of the Galerie Vivienne and Passage Choiseul, along with side steps to the Madeleine, Rue Royale, Concorde, Assemblée Nationale, and Orangerie.
Take a 1-4 hour walk around the west of Paris, learning the history of the Grand Palace, Pont Alexandre III, and Les Invalides. See the site of Napoleon’s Tomb, and stroll the green spaces of the Champ de Mars. Marvel at Gustav Eiffel’s iron tower, with options to go to the Musée Rodin, Musée Quai Branly, and Trocadéro. Pass Napoleon’s triumphal Arc de Triomphe, and window shop on the Champs Elysées.
Explore the east of Paris on a 1-5 hour tour of Place Châtelet, the Conciergerie, and Saint Chapel. Wander the boulevards of the Latin Quarter, including Boulevard Saint Michel, site of the Musée de Cluny, École des Mines, and Sorbonne. Admire the gothic façade of Notre Dame, wander the streets of the Île Saint-Louis, and see the façade of the Hôtel de Ville (City Hall). Sidebar options include the hilltop Montagne Sainte Geneviève, location of the Paris Panthéon.
