Take in Dauphin Square filled with its mysteries of Templars. See the Palace of Justice that remembers Napoleon Bonaparte. Pass by the Conciergerie, an ancient royal residence turned into a prison during the French Revolution. Your guide will also take you by the Clock Tower, Saint-Chapelle, and the flower market where guards bought modest bouquets for imprisoned Marie-Antoinette.
Walk by the oldest hospital in Paris. Walk along streets worthy of a movie and check out where they sell the best ice cream and cupcakes in the city. Eventually you’ll reach Notre-Dame de Paris, where you’ll have some time to appreciate this masterpiece and hear about its history, to enter it and feel its spirit and to make a wish at the Paris Point Zero marker.
After the visit to Notre-Dame you’ll head to the left bank of the Seine, passing by one of the oldest churches and the famous Shakespeare and Company bookshop, and into a labyrinth of medieval streets filled with aromas of delicious dishes cooked at the many small restaurants.
During this 1-hour lunch portion of the tour program, you’ll have the opportunity to taste your choice of starter, main dish, and dessert, accompanied by wine. While waiting for your lunch to be served your guide will tell you about French cuisine, and you can ask any questions you like to learn more.
After lunch your guide will provide you with tickets for a boat cruise on the Seine River, with instructions on where and when to board, and information on what you’ll see along the way. You can take the cruise right after lunch or later if you wish. The cruise lasts for 1 hour and 10 minutes, and its starting time is flexible.
On the cruise you’ll pass Concorde Square, the Museum d'Orsay, the Louvre, around the Île de la Cité, and back to the Eiffel Tower. Enjoy seeing this magnificent city from a unique perspective.
