Your guide will explain the history of the tower, from its construction in 1889, to it becoming the most iconic symbol of the city. Then, take another elevator to the summit of the tower to marvel at the skyline of Paris from above. Look out for monuments such as the Sacre-Coeur Basilica, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Pont Neuf. Our guide was excellent. He waited for us as we were late from our flight. He was very knowledgeable. Thank you to him. But i think that you should not have to collect ticket from so far away from eiffel tower. Should be able to print off and meet at tower.

We were very pleased that we chose to pre-pay and skip the line. The other lines were horrendous. We were able to march past all those poor souls that had been waiting in multiple lines for hours. The time of year we visited was not even high tourist season. I cannot imagine what it would have been like at peak season. We were treated like VIPs. It was great!

Cold but great.

Be warned that it is very cold and windy on the tower in September. We went during the last weekend and were not prepared for the weather that we encountered. Other than that, the guide, Igor (I think that is how you spell it.), was knowledgeable and friendly. I did advise that he take some type of flag or something by which we could identify him because we ended losing him in the shuffle. We found him later, but I believe it could have been avoided with a flag or something of that nature.
