At Parc de la Mar, under the cathedral, the walking tour begins with a close look at the founding of the city and the changes in the political situation. Go through the old fishing district to the old fortress complex Es Baluard, home to an incredible view over the city and harbor.
Further on, pass the Museu d'Art Modern i Contemporani and arrive at the maze of streets in the old city. Discover the romantic Paseo del Borne and see the former houses of the aristocracy, today 5-star hotels. Continue into the upper city and discover the historical town hall, the parliament and the Almudaina Palace, and enjoy the impressive view of the cathedral with its rich history.
Continue on to the marketplace Mercat de L'Olivar, with an incredible selection of Mediterranean products from which regional dishes may be made. Try a selection of local specialties and learn about what makes Mediterranean cuisine unique.
