Meet the chef in Capo Market, visit the market and do the shopping for the cooking class. Your chef will teach you how to choose the best seasonal ingredients and how to prepare an authentic Sicilian traditional lunch.
What to Expect
The cooking class takes you through the whole process of cooking an authentic Palermitan meal; from shopping for ingredients in Palermo's oldest market, to cooking, to enjoying your home cooked meal. The menu, of course, changes on the basis of seasonality and ingredients availability and will always include an antipasto, a primo (first course), a secondo (second course), a dessert and fine Sicilian wine. The lesson lasts about 4 hours and is designed for a minimum of 2 people.
Chef Gabriele, is a seasoned chef. He was born and raised in Palermo. He studied food and hospitality for years and today he is part of the Italian Chef Federation. Gabriele has traveled all around the world cooking and speaks English very well. He was one of the sous Chef of the famous Italian restaurant in Las Vegas "Casa di Amore". Gabriele won second place at the Panormus Street Food Festival and was invited to cook at the Sicilian cluster at Expo Milano. He is looking forward to meet you and experience an amazing Sicilian hands on cooking class with you. Gabriele and his family own one of the oldest friggitorie in Palermo, Dainotti's.
