What to Expect
The tour, which starts in Piazza Verdi in the city center, includes a visit to some of the major monuments of the Norman age, evidence of one of the most important historical periods of beautiful Sicily.
Moving on foot to the city of Palermo, you will be able to visit cathedrals, churches and palaces now included in the list UNESCO (World Heritage List) as proof of the importance of the "political image" that the Norman kings, Ruggero II, William I and William II, pursued with great interest.
Through an accurate description you will find out more about the extraordinary encounter between different civilizations: the Fatimid (architecture) and the Byzantine (the mosaic decoration), a clear example of eclectic stylein Sicily between the twelfth and early thirteenth century.
You will finally have the opportunity to enjoy the "street food" in typical places and after lunch, you will be escorted to the Piazza Indipendenza to end the tour.
