If you are short of time but still want a special tall ship experience, why not try this late afternoon cruise? Operating on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, this 2-hour experience offers a gentle sail in the inner bay. Light finger food is included.
What to Expect
Step on board Northland’s iconic tall ship the R. Tucker Thompson for a relaxing sail in the inner Bay. Get involved and help hoist the sails then once you are underway, sit back, and relax as you pass around a shared antipasto platter. Enjoy a drink from thecash bar and experience the beauty of a traditionally rigged vessel under sail.
If you're adventurous, there's time for you to grab a harness and climb up the rigging. For the more romantically inclined, head out to the bowsprit and create your own memories.
Operating on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, this short 2 hour experience departs from Russell Wharf at 4.00 pm, returning shortly before 6.00 pm. Light finger food is included and a cash bar is available, so enjoy a glass of wine while the sun goes down - the perfect way to start your evening.
Ferries to Russell are included in the ticket price so why not head over early and spend an afternoon discovering this historic village and dine in one of the many excellent restaurants after your sail.
The ship is operated as a not-for-profit charitable trust with profits from day sail and afternoon sail activities being used to support youth sail training programs over the New Zealand winter. Operating for over 25 years, the ship is Qualmark-approved with a Gold environmental rating.
