What People Are Saying About Ourika Valley
The day started at the great square where we met our driver. The drive in a well climated 4x4 lasted just over 1 hour. On the way we made one stop for a photo and the stop at the Argan Oil shop. We politely declined their offer to buy any goods. Arriving at the village we met our guide Mohammed, who is a very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful guide. We had a very nice chat and soon arrived at the first village across the river. While you're constantly harassed to buy stuff in Marrakech these guys where very polite. Be prepared to climb and by that I mean actual climbing. anything less than trainers could be very dangerous. On the first waterfall we had enough time to take pictures. The further up we went the rockier the ways got. At some point he'll ask if you want to go further. If you're afraid of heights DON'T go it's very high but with an amazing view. Back at the village you're offered to eat there but it's ok to decline. This trip was nothing short of amazing.
Mohammed is the name of the guide we had and he was amazing. There are not enough kind words. The best guide in my opinion. Amazing
This was a great trip. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly and we had such a varied and full day. The walk up the mountain was quite challenging for the more mature but the right footwear makes all the difference. Excellent value for money and well worth it.
Great excursion from start to finish. Collected from riad by friendly guide in spacious MPV carrying a few others. Drove to Atlas foothills where we stopped to explore a typical Berber house and learn about their culture and daily lives. Continued upwards, learning history of country and unique perspective on state of affairs from multi-lingual driver. Stopped again at women's argan oil cooperative and saw process from start to finish then opportunity to purchase at decent prices. Another short drive then we were handed over to Berber local (again, multi-lingual) to guide us up to waterfalls. Very friendly, chatty and helpful to less able members of the group. Patiently waited for people if they wanted to stop for photos or to make purchases from Berber artisans. Led to falls, waited for everyone to decide when to leave then took us back down to a cafe at the bottom where our driver was waiting to deliver us back to our hotels. Great experience and reasonable price.
Great trip, very punctual and informative guide/driver. Local guide Mohammed superb, very safe in his hands as we made the climb.
