Koyasan is definitely worth a visit. It is a deeply spiritual place. Out of the ordinary. That said, to be able to enjoy lunch, it is advisable to collect the tickets the day before or at the latest at 9 am, otherwise it is very fair. You have to be at the temple for lunch at 12 p.m. and the trip from Namba Station to the Temple lasts about 2 hours if you take the train at 10 a.m. for which you have to pay for reserved seats in addition and cca 2:30 if you take the trains without reservation (it must change in Hashimoto). Also pay attention to the meeting point. Our tickets weren't ready at the Information Center. We had to wait for an agent from the Japanese agency to bring them to us. Overall it was a great experience.
