What to Expect
Marvel at Oregon's scenic grandeur as you enjoy dramatic views of its coastline including Astoria Beach, Cannon Beach, Hay Stack Rock, Tillamook Rock Light House, and of course the majestic Pacific Ocean. This escorted mini-bus tour, with stops at attractions, runs approximately 8 hours from pick-up to return.
Your tour includes a stop at one of the most notable of these beacons known as the Astoria Column, a 125 feet lighthouse located on Coxcomb Hill 600 feet above the Pacific Ocean. This impressive Oregon coast historical monument is the only one of its kind in the world. Look south for a glimpse of your next stop at Cannon Beach, a quaint little beach town with shops, art galleries, restaurants and candy shops featuring fresh-made salt water taffy.
Continuing south, your tour brings you to historic Haystack Rock, a large basalt monolith that serves as a marine wildlife sanctuary. Teeming with a myriad of aquatic and avian life forms, the Haystack Rock tidal pools shelter sea slugs, starfish, sea anemone, crabs and limpets. Above sea level, the rock provides nesting sites for puffins and terns.
Stop and explore an old growth forest located right on the beach as you continue the quest for even more breath-taking perspectives of America’s Pacific Northwest. Enjoy amazing views of Manzanita and the Nehalem River from Neahkanie Mountain, one of the highest peaks in the Coast Range.
From Astoria to Cannon Beach enjoy the dramatic beauty, fascinating history and diverse ecology featured on this Oregon coastal tour.
