What people are saying about Oak Alley Plantation

Busy day from the bayou boat ride to Oak Alley tour! The only complaint is the bus ride...if you’re in the back seats every bump the bus hits you will go flying but not the fault of the tour company...typical roads in and around New Orleans. The bayou boat ride was fun and the weather was great! The alligators came out to eat marshmallows so plenty of opportunities to see and take photos of the gators. The Oak Alley plantation was great and informative...it is history...not the best moment in our history but nevertheless a part of our history. It is this history that reminds us to never repeat this sort of behavior. Don’t forget to take the photo of the oak tree arches in front of the house!

Our driver out to the plantation and swamp tour,, Gary was amazing!!! It makes a huge difference in the experience when there's a bit of driving involved to have someone with a sense of humor and awesome personality. Everyone at the plantation was friendly and knowledgeable. The oaks at the plantation were amazing. Our swamp boat captain, whose name isn't coming to me right now (he has Bill, lol) was awesome!! Someone else with a sense of humor! Loved the mix of alligator searching with some insight and education. Definitely a must do!

The entire plantation is not a guided tour like I thought. it's a quick 30 minute tour of the big house and the rest you look at on your own. a little disappointed that we couldn't take pictures inside, but the tour was good and saw some original pieces to the house. jackie was great. the airboat was insanely fun! if you get a good one, be prepared to get wet as we did a lot of full speed drifting, 360s, and jumping corners and bogs.

The Laura Plantation Tour was the best tour that we have had at a plantation. Joseph was our tour guide and he did amazing at explaining the history and culture of the plantation. I highly recommend visiting this plantation if you want to hear the real life story of the history and people that have lived there. Great experience.

The tour of the plantation house was very interesting. However, the best part of the whole experience was the airboat/swamp ride! The guide that we were with was very informative and a lot of fun. I wish I knew his name so I could recommend him for everyone!
