Enjoy a photographic eco-tour of the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, part of the Bosques Templado de los Andes Australes and a UNESCO-declared Biosphere Reserve. See the Osorno Volcano, the famous Petrohué Waterfalls and Todos Los Santos Lake.
What to Expect
From your hotel, the airport or pier, travel through Villa Ensenada and explore the skirts of the Osorno Volcano, also known locally as “Pirepillán.” Enjoy the native plant and wildlife on your way to Los Pilleyos.
Reach the entrance to the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park and the Laguna Verde area. The national park is part of the temperate rainforests of the Austral Andes and was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2007. Visit the "Burbuja," where you'll find a local ski resort; you may even see the glacial run-off from the volcano's slopes.
Continue to the famous Petrohué Waterfalls or “Los Saltos.” The falls were created by the lava flows from the Osorno Volcano, which cut off the flow of water between Todos Los Santos Lake and Llanquihue Lake to form the Petrohué River.
Take short hikes to "Los Enamorados" and "Carilemu." Learn about the different types of rocks, vegetation and wildlife that live in this evergreen forest.
Finally, visit Todos Los Santos Lake, also known as the Emerald Lake due to the beautifully-colored water.
Take photographs from the beach and explore the black sands before returning to the city.
