Full description

Explore Etna starting from Siracusa, with a certified guide to experience an unforgettable day. We'll leave from Siracusa at 8.15am dal Molo S.Antonio and together we will discover the fascinating world of volcanic phenomena, admiring the effects of the volcanic flows which over time have modified the landscape rich in breathtaking panoramic views. We'll arrive at an altitude of 1900 meters from where it will be possible to start our trekking in total safety among the craters and volcanic paths around an altitude of over 2000 meters maintaining a comfortable and accessible pace for everyone. Our expert guide ensures a fun trek suitable for all physical abilities, full of information, with possible variations of the route to also explore other sides of the volcano. After the trek you can relax in a local winery where you can taste wines and typical products of Etna in a typical Sicilian environment. The return to Siracusa is expected in the afternoon, around 4:00 pm and you will be taken back to the starting point.

A great day from start to finish. Francesco met us two minutes' walk from our Ortigia apartment. From there, an hour or so transfer in his Renault people carrier to Mount Etna. He offered us three touring options and luckily we and the other couple agreed on one - a hike with wonderful views, both of the coastline, and newer craters, which smoked obligingly (though no lava bombs that day). The trip ended with a visit to an independent winery, for a wine, food, and spirit tasting, then transfer back to our Ortigia starting point. Highly recommended.

We had a great day with Francesco as our guide. We chose to go up Mt Etna with the cable car and hiked up a creator. Francesco had walking poles for us that were really needed. We felt heat of the volcano from holes inside the creator. The hike was about an hour and a half. We then went down the mountain for lunch/food and wine tasting with some wild cherries picked along the way. Overall a great day and Francesco was a great guide.

Francesco è la migliore guida che si possa sperare di conoscere: appassionato, preparato, attento alle esigenze dei suoi escursionisti, ci ha raccontato tanto sull’Etna, sulla sua flora e la sua fauna, attraverso un percorso - forse meno battuto - che dal sentiero “schiena dell’asino” ci ha portati all’affaccio sulla meravigliosa Valle del Bove, uno spettacolo della natura che lascia davvero senza fiato. Al termine del tour, una degustazione di prodotti tipici, davvero notevole, ha chiuso in bellezza una giornata che ha superato ogni aspettativa. Davvero grazie per questa perfetta esperienza e… alla prossima!!!
