Enjoy a remarkable shore excursion from Villefranche-sur-Mer. This 5-hour tour takes you to the glamorous sites in Monte Carlo, before continuing on to the Èze commune. You will then take a beach front drive to Nice along "Promenade des Anglais."
What to Expect
Experience the luxury of the French Riviera on this half-day private shore excursion. You will be escorted in an air-conditioned van from Villafranche-sur-Mer, along the Lower Corniche Road, hugging the rocky coast as you make your way to the Principality of Monaco.
Visit the old city, Monaco-Ville, which houses the Prince's Palace – home to both the royal family and the seat of government – and experience the daily changing of the guards. Continue on the Saint Nicholas Cathedral, where Prince Rainier and Princess Grace were married, and later buried.
Take a break from sightseeing to visit the famous Formula One Grand Prix and imagine yourself in the driver's seat as you take a lap around the circuit. Your journey continues on to the Golden Square, which is surrounded the Hotel de Paris and Hotel Hermitage. The main star, however, is the Monte Carlo Casino, where the most high-profile players come to perfect their craft. On any given day, you might catch sight of politicians, movie stars, and celebrities walking through the casino doors.
Continue on to Èze, a former medieval village, and now a commune in the southeastern corner of France. Here you will walk along the narrow lanes and stone buildings. Located 1,200 feet (400 meters) above the sea, Èze is situated on cliffs and renown for its panoramic view of the water.
Make your way to Nice by driving along the beach front "Promenade des Anglais." Upon arriving, spend time at Cours Saleya, one of the most traditional and well-known squares in town. Visit the daily flower market and take in the sights of the nearby Palais des Rois Sardes before following the coastline back to your cruise ship.
