What to Expect
Meet your guide at 9:30 am at Castle Clinton on the southern tip of Manhattan and board the ferry. Enjoy priority boarding without waiting in a line. Once on the island, enjoy a guided tour of the museum.
Highlights include one of the original statue torches, rare memorabilia, and the plaque with the poem "The New Colossus" that was at the base of the statue from 1903 until the 1980's. Take in the sights of the New York skyline on the observation deck. Then take the ferry over to Ellis Island, where you will learn the fascinating history of America's peak immigration years. Visit the Great Hall and learn about the process of going through Ellis Island as an immigrant newly arriving to America. Listen to personal stories and see family photos. Learn how you too can trace your family history at Ellis Island. When you break for lunch (not provided), you are on your own for the rest of your visit. You are able to stay as long as you want before returning to Manhattan.

Know Before You Go
The guided portion of the tour is 3.5-4 hours (subject to ferry schedule), however to fully experience Ellis Island,it is suggested you spend an additional hour on the island before returning to Manhattan.
A moderate amount of walking is involved, please wear appropriate shoes.
Pedestal is not wheelchair accessible.
If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
Backpacks, strollers, and other large items are not allowed in the pedestal of the statue. Lockers are available for rental for $2.00 USD. Rentals are cash only (lockers fee not included).
Photography is allowed, however no monopods or tripods are allowed.
No food or drink (other than bottled water).
No weapons of any kind are allowed at the statue. There is no place to check these items before going through security.
The tour departs promptly and if late, you will not be able to catch up and will miss the tour. There are no refunds for missing the tour.
