On this scenic 3-hour walking tour, walk across and learn about the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Once in Brooklyn, explore two unique neighborhoods – formerly industrial (and now hip) Dumbo and historic Brooklyn Heights, with its 19th-century brownstones.
What to Expect
This 3-3.5 hour walking tour introduces participants to some of the wonders of Brooklyn, including a walk over the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. You'll discover why the Brooklyn Bridge was dubbed the “8th Wonder of the World” when it opened in 1883, as well as uncover the tragedies and triumphs that went into its construction.
The tour begins in Downtown Manhattan, where you will learn about some famous NY landmarks and events before heading across the Brooklyn Bridge and into Brooklyn. Once on the other side, you'll get the chance to explore two unique neighborhoods with very different pasts – the formerly industrial (and now chic) Dumbo and the charming, 19th-century Brownstone district of Brooklyn Heights.
You will be able to enjoy an optional coffee (and bathroom) break at a popular local cafe, before proceeding to Brooklyn’s newest park: Brooklyn Bridge Park. Here, you’ll take in spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline and enjoy memorable photo opportunities, before heading up to Brooklyn Heights, also known as NY’s first suburb.
In this last segment of the tour, you’ll explore NY’s first historic district and one of the most quaint and beautiful neighborhoods in Brooklyn. You’ll also enjoy elevated views from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, including NY Harbor and Statue of Liberty views.
