What to Expect

Our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide will tell about the Park’s history and about the significance of each of the main sights we encounter.
During the tour you’ll see one of the oldest carousels in America, the summer stage and the pond made famous in the popular movie “Stewart Little.” We’ll stop so you can walk along Bethesda Terrace and take the steps down to the lake where you’ll see the Angel of the Water fountain.
We’ll make a stop at Strawberry Fields, named after the Beatles song, where you may want to take a photo of the Imagine mosaic installed as a tribute to John Lennon. From here you can walk to the top of the hill for views of Manhattan’s luxurious Upper West Side.
Coming down the hill you’ll pass the Sheep Meadow and Tavern on the Green. These landmarks have been the setting for many movies such as Elf, Home Alone, Serendipity, and Wall Street.
